CouchSurfing

En una de mis visitas a la ciudad de Indianápolis, IN, USA coincidí con una prima y decidimos asistir a un festival de Hallowen en la localidad de Irvington, y fue allí donde conocimos a Melissa y Malakai, una pareja que desde el 2009 se dedica a recorrer el mundo y para reducir sus gastos de estadía utilizan la herramienta de  Couchsurfing (CS), la cual les permite hospedarse en el sofá (couch) de algún miembro de esta inmensa comunidad virtual, ofreciendo a cambio retribuir el hospedaje a ese mismo o cualquier otro miembro de la red en cualquier parte del mundo. 

Gracias a ellos comienza mi investigación sobre la red social, y posteriormente mi esposo y yo nos registramos en Couchsurfing (CS), con la idea de sacar el mayor provecho de esta herramienta virtual, bien sea para compartir con gente que llegue a nuestra ciudad o cuando nosotros decidamos salir de ella. Cabe destacar que alojar personas o alojarte en casa de alguien mas no es la única herramienta que puedes usar, también puedes ir por un café o mostrarle los sitios de interés de tu ciudad a personas que están de paso y quieren conocer mas allá de lo que muestran las guías turísticas y ver las bellezas de cada región través de los ojos de un local. Te pondrás en contacto con la realidad misma del lugar que visitas, con su gente y su día a día. Saldrás de los circuitos turísticos y de los bares para turistas en los que no ves a ningún local. Vivirás la vida realidad!

While visiting Indianapolis, IN, USA, I met with my cousin and we decided to attend "Irvington Halloween Fest", and was there where we met Melissa and Malakai, a great couple who is dedicated to travel around the world since 2009. To reduce their expenses they have been using the social network  Couchsurfing (CS) which allows them to stay on the couch of other Members of this virtual community, offering in exchange to host them back or to host any other Member of the network anywhere in the world.

That gave me a starting point on my research about the social network, and later my husband and I decided to register in Couchsurfing (CS), with the idea of getting the most out of this virtual tool, whether it is to share with people who come to our city or when we decide to get out of it. It should be noted that host people or stay in someone's House is not the only tool that you can use, you can also go for a coffee or show you the city to people who are passing by and want to know what is beyond the tourist guides and see the beauty of each region through the eyes of a local. You will get in touch with the reality of the place you visit, Its people and their day to day. You will leave the tourist circuits and bars for tourists where you don't see any local. You will live the life reality!
